Traveling to the Seattle Tacoma Airport and you’re not sure about anything?
Our simple informative guide can help you during the frenzy of holiday or everyday travel.
Arriving or departing Seatac Airport…
When preparing for arrival, you want to leave at least two hours before your scheduled flight time which will give you enough time to check in, get your boarding passes, pay for luggage, get through security and whatever else you might need to do in person.
The last trip I took was in February of 2017 and I had time to spare before my flight, allowing my son and I to grab some Seattle airport food for the flight and relax our nerves.
Getting somewhere early is better than being late especially if you’re anxiety-prone as airports can be overwhelming as is.
Departing the SeaTac airport is the easier task, you’re doing everything the same, except this time, no security checkpoints. Once you’re off the plane you’ll grab your luggage and head out the doors.
I found it easier to still have a departure plan such as making sure I had a shuttle to go home or taking note of the available car services.

Knowing where your gate is ahead of time can save you the stress of trying to figure out how to get from one end of an airport to the next. I have the same method when it comes to malls.

I will say when I got off the plane in Seattle for a moment I was not sure where to go to get my luggage, however, I found out quickly that there are signs telling you where to go.

The benefits of Seattle Airport Food.
One thing that I love is buying some snacks before getting on the plane because who wouldn’t want to eat while high in the sky? (no pun intended) I got me some delicious banana bread at one of the cafes.
Just a few examples of great Seatac restaurants are…
- Anthony’s Resturant
- Ivar’s seafood
- Maki of Japan
- Dilettante Chocolates and Mocha Cafe ( where I got my banana bread)
- Great American Bagel Bakery
- Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
- La Pisa Cafe
Seatac airport bars
- Mountain room bar
- Vino Volo
- Seahawks 12 Club
Seatac airport restaurants outside of security
*Note most of these are cafes*
- Seattle’s best coffee
- Alki Bakey
It is important to note that depending on the gate you’re at, some of these places won’t be available for you. If you know your gate ahead of time, visit here to find out what will be available near you.
